Summary[]
On the other side of the now-collapsed bridge, Kondou and Hijikata parted from the Yorozuya. Meanwhile, Ayame and Hattori reached the secret escape route, with the latter seemingly falling into an unconscious state. However, as soon as the gate of the route was opened, Ayame was stabbed in the stomach by Takasugi, much to her astonishment. Before she could fight back, Kamui had shot her in the shoulder with his umbrella, knocking her down.
It was revealed that the Kiheitai had already been waiting in the route, knowing that the whole battle with the Oniwabanshuu was no more than a diversion. Gathering his strength, Hattori stood up against the Kiheitai, attacking them with a rain of kunais. Although most of them were killed as a result, Takasugi and Kamui managed to get through the attack and pointed their weapons at Hattori before he could stab them with a single kunai. Right then, Gintoki and Kagura appeared, rushing towards Takasugi and Kamui from above, thus colliding with them.
