Gintoki was checking the TV in his house, thinking that it was out of order when he realised that it was somewhat different from how it was supposed to be. Kagura said that a man had come and changed the TV set. Suddenly, the TV screen was on, showing Ayame, who explained that this TV was a new 3D model. She also told Gintoki that to change the channel, he had to place his lips on hers. Knowing this was a trick from her, he told Sadaharu to turn off the TV for him, thus revealing that the TV was only a box with Ayame inside. Nevertheless, during the struggle with Sadaharu, her glasses were broken.
As Kagura and Shinpachi comforted her over the loss of her glasses, Gintoki was forced to buy a new pair of glasses for Ayame. He ended up giving her the glasses of the optical shop's owner, which she was totally obsessed of, treating them as a normal person. Gintoki had the glasses repaired by Gengai and returned it to her, but she refused to use them.
Not long after, Ayame received a task, which she failed horribly while attacking her own men, as a result of the useless glasses she used. Hattori warned her about the Shimatsuya losing their trust on her, and that they would kill any untrustworthy assassins. He also asked her if the glasses she used were worth risking her life.
Later, Ayame was shown standing on a balcony, thinking about the glasses and Gintoki, when she was encountered by the Shimatsuya.
