Hinowa, while not Seita's mother by birth, was the one who brought him away from Yoshiwara as a baby after his mother died in labour. After growing up with an elderly man he referred to as grandpa, Seita learned upon his grand father's death that his mother was a courtesan in Yoshiwara and was apparently very beautiful. Hearing of Hinowa, the most famous woman in Yoshiwara, Seita concluded that she was likely his mother and worked at saving enough money to gain an audience with her. Although not family by blood. Hinowa considers Seita her son as do the other courtesans of Yoshiwara. Amongst the guards at Housen's palace alone, this resulted in Seita having 53 mothers at least.
